William Hauser, Ph.D.
William J. (Bill) Hauser grew up in Wisconsin and received his bachelors degree in Zoology at the University of Wisconsin followed by a MS in Fish and Wildlife Management at Montana State University and PhD in Zoology at the University of Maine. He has been involved in fisheries studies for 44 years including 30 years in Alaska. He retired from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game in 2002.
In addition to fisheries studies, Bill has written a column, FISH TALK, about fish biology for the monthly newsletter of the Alaska Fly Fishers for nearly 20 years. He has recently published his first book, Letters from Alaska, The Inside to the Outside.
