This web site promotes sharing of objective scientific information on proposed mineral development in Bristol Bay, Alaska.  Potential industrial scale mining in this region is controversial because mining has a history of impacting the natural environment and local economies are based on fisheries and many people still rely on fishing and hunting for food.  Basic details on the first proposed prospect, Pebble, are available from the Alaska Department of Natural Resources at:  http://dnr.alaska.gov/mlw/mining/largemine/pebble/
